Kickstarter: TJH Models

As much as I like to show off my own ideas and creations, sometimes something really exciting comes along that just has to be shared. This is one of those things.

   Kickstarter has become a great place for new things to invigorate our hobby. Where other means of funding would be impractical or outright impossible, Kickstarter gives exciting, if niche, projects a place to flourish and become reality. For this project in particular, I personally am very excited to see this happen.
 

Terrain: Return of the Giving Tree

Happy New Year everyone and I hope you all had a very merry Christmas. The Giving Tree has returned this year, let's see what it brought us.

 Another apocalypse has come and gone, this time courtesy of a Mayan calender. Scary stuff isn't it? I hope everyone enjoyed another uneventful end of the world!

Under Construction: Building a Better Warboss

It's time to get the biker boss built and running. With the assembly "instructions" from Forge World being a tad bit vague, I figured a full step by step guide in pictures would be useful for the beginning hobbyist who wants to add this bad boy to his collection.

Special Project: Void Ravens Hobby League Tag

With the start of a local hobby league I finally found reason to complete a project I had been wanting to try for awhile. Although not especially useful for anything in particular, it still resulted in an interesting piece.

 


 

Terrain: Starship Side Hull

While a turret is a good detail piece to show location, the table required a little more depth to truly appreciate the scale of a 40K cruiser. That's where the extruded siding of the ship comes in. Nothing like a terrain piece with height to show off depth.

Terrain: Point Defense Turret

There are many who do not feel that the Forge World supplement books are not worth purchasing due to cost. I am not one of those people. Although I have purchased the Badab War two part set, I feel I have been wasting their content by not using it, so this project is intended to amend that.

Terrain: Snow Trees

Continuing with the winter theme, no snow table would be complete without some classic snowy coniferous trees. My family knows exactly what I like, so I was delighted to find these trees under the Christmas tree this holiday. Let's take a look at what came in the bag.

Terrain: Giving Tree Holiday Special

Despite a quick trip through the hospital, the articles must roll on. It may be a little late but at least it's early for next year. I present to you fair readers, The Giving Tree. Though it may give to all who approach it, it demands blood given in return. It's a simple build, but I'll show you what I did and why.

News: Finally Home

I'd like to take this moment to update everyone who officially and unofficially follows the Dark Workshop. There is a reason there has been no content posted, and that is because I have been in the hospital for the last two weeks and only just recently got released. As such, there will not be much in the way of articles. Although, I do hope to finish the holiday special.
   For those of you who are curious, I suddenly fell quite ill and that played havoc with my blood sugar and placed me in a diabetic coma. From there, I spent a week recovering in the intensive care unit. I am all healthy now and getting back on my feet so things should be returning to normal soon.
   That's all for now. I hope all of you are enjoying better health and I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas. I'm looking forward to another exciting and interesting year. Enjoy your holidays and the new year!
